FilterLex is developing Captis®, for next-generation, full-body, embolic protection. The goal of this technology is to reduce the risk of stroke and other complications that can arise from catheter-based heart procedures.
During procedures such as TAVI, embolic particles are often released into the blood. These particles can threaten neurological and cognitive functioning and damage distal organs and kidneys. Captis is being developed to make TAVI procedures safer and more comfortable for patients.
